I was looking for a small project that might be appreciated by the market public. It had to be something rather small and relatively quick to make. So I went browsing in my inspiration folder (yes I am too old school for Pinterest) and found some images of segmented penguins.
From my pen making I have a lot small pieces of wood, some of them beautifully colored exotic wood I just can’t bring myself to throw away. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to use it.
I didn’t really design a shape but as usual I let the wood guide me. The beaks are simple cone shapes, which might be too simple. I also didn’t add eyes as I like the simplicity of this design more. Maybe next time I’ll add them using the same contrasting wood I used for the beak.
