This knot carving is made from 2 identical carvings that fit together to make a fisherman's knot. This type of knot is used to secure to separate ropes together, so I made them from different species of wood to emphasise this fact. Using two wood species also adds to the mistery of how it was made when the piece is displayed in an assembled form.
